I've seen kids as young as 11 and 12 wearing make up, I mean some of them look like there wearing a gallon of make up on thier face. The kids have make up lines and such.
I always seems they are wearing tons of make up beacuse thier skin is so lovely and colour full already...make is just a novelty..
I persoally feel lip gloss, nail poilish and maybe a cream to powder eye shadow is the limit for for the 12-15 group. I don't think mascara is a good idea because mascara spoils in a few months, needs to be removed every night with a special product and I think most girls under 16 do not have the disipline to keep track of how long that tube has been opened and or rutinely remove it every night. Besides most grown wemon have a hard time to put mascara on well. and I think is look "showgirlish" on thier little eyes.
I am a Beauty Consultant and most of my client buy pink lipgloss and one step cream-to-powder eyeshadow in vanilla for thier daughters.
I was wearing full makeup at 13, but as I think about it now I looked a bit rediculous. I think eyeshadows and lipstick are ok as long as it doesnt look over done, but full makeup should wait until 15 to 16 as long as their face is clear, if they have acne and want to cover it, let them, you wouldnt run around without it if you had acne so why make them.
my daughter is 9 and she wears clear mascara eyeshadow and lipgloss with lots of sparkles and she is beautiful
I think lipgloss/lipstick is fine around 10 yrs. old. Eye make up, depending on how much is okay when they are 13 and older. As for other make up for the whole face, I don't think it is necessary until girls are much older.....18/19 or even older depending on their skin type. Young girls are still developing and I think that make up can ruin their skin if they don't use it properly. ie. clean their faces properly after wearing make up etc.
Part of the growing up process is trying new things, and I think when girls are about 12 or 13 it's okay for them to experiment with blush, eye shadow, mascara and lipstick. Are they going to look ridiculous? Absolutely! But it's all part of learning what looks best on you. I wore some very silly makeup looks when I was that age, and at the time, I thought I looked fabulous! Looking back now, WOW. I had some issues with mauve eye shadow, and don't get me started on the blue mascara...:)
I think as long as they don't look like a street tramp or anything, let them have fun. But not until age 12; before that, stick to Bonne Bell lip gloss and paint & peel nail polish!
My husband claims my daughter isn't dating until she's 35, so who knows what he'll think of the whole makeup dilemma when we get there!
I don't think that young girls should be wearing make-up before high school...My sister's and I never really wore make-up except for pictures and on days we were cheering for games, but even then it was only some mascara and lip gloss. I think that make-up mess up a girls self confidence...there were a lot of girls who freaked out if the couldn't touch up their make-up inbetween classes. To this day I hardly wear make-up and I am glad I don't....when the time come for daughter to be able to wear make-up I hope that she understands that it is also important to be comfortable in her own skin and that make-up shouldn't be a cover up for anything.
Take your daughter to a boutique when she's around 13 so that she can be taught how to properly apply and remove makeup. Still keep it simple at this point, no eyeliner or foundation.. She'll look cheap and older than she needs to. There minds generally have yet to keep up with their bodies. So keep her looking like a 13 year old (or whatever her age) as long as possible.
I think like at 13 or 14 but not a lot of make up just a little.
I think clear gloss and mascara are ok to wear at 13.
