So how about these gas prices? It's almost $4 here in New York. What is it costing by you? What do you think about it? Does it scare you? Scares me. It cost $70 just to fill the tank on our Nissan Xterra last week. Now it's going to cost even more. We're definitely cutting out a lot of extras to get by. We live in the country so we HAVE to drive everywhere. How is it affecting your family?

We paid 3.49 a gallon last week - cost us 70.00 to fill our sport trac.  We have a long commute to work so it hurts.

I cant stand the price inflation, gas is up to 3.40 the last time I checked but everytime I look it seems to get higher. Its not just gas prices it also eggs, milk, bread and corn. I really hope with election season coming I hope the prices will spike down agian.

It makes me mad because there is no reason for the price to continue to rise, except greed. There is no surplus. People in Iran are paying 15 CENTS a gallon because there is so much. I'm glad there was finally some protesting in Washington. Lets see if anything comes of it.

I'm frustrated. We have 2 vehicles and have been using only 1. I can't go see my parents who live 30 mins away as often as I'de like. I can't put more than $40.00 in my van and its gone in less than 4 days cause it only gives me between 1/4 and 1/2 a tank. I have to choose between buying food and putting gas in my van. Lose lose situation.

What is it going to take? It's hard to protest when people need to buy the gas to get to their jobs. I wish everyone around the US could just park their vehicle for one day and not move it just to send the point!

My husband had to quit Dominos because they aren't paying the drivers enough money to drive, and have no intension of increasing the gas money.  My husbands car is the only one that is filled all the way and we keep my car at 1/4 of a tank since we don't go anywhere and if we have to put gas in my car it is only $20 at a time.  My husband and I plan on starting a gas savings account when we get our money that way we could build some interest off of it too...I feel like that is the only way we are going to be able to afford gas.

I am totally with you Momof5 I know I could do it...heck if it is at all poss. I would say lets strive for a week!

Gas here jumped 20 cents in one week. I was so mad. When my hubby and I got together around 4 years ago gas was 1.50 and that was chevron (the expensive gas( funny thing is thats all I put in my car now) and two years ago it was like 2 dollars a gallon. When I started driving about 8 years ago it was .99 cents a gallon. so in 6 years gas went up a dollar, and in the last 2 years its gone up 2 dollars, I think thats a little bit ridiculous.  We both have to use our cars but our gas budget was 250 a month now that what it takes to fill up my car for a month, not to add my hubbys 100$ a month, he only fills up twice a month.

On the news a couple days ago they said the price of gas might come down if people pay with cash instead of cards. Part of the problem is the percentage gas stations have to pay the credit cards company. So it would be more money in their pocket and less out of ours if we pay cash for our gas!

i live in upstate ny about an hr south of syracuse.  our prices are aroun $3.70 a gal.  i hate the prices and most people in our county qualify for  foodstamps and or other aid so gas going up is one more thing we can't afford.  this area doesn't have buses on a major plan either.  most of us are rural so gas is a  must and yet min wage is the most common pay.

momof5, I now pay cash for most everything, except for online bill pays!  i am so glad I do not have to drive to work anymore.  I put $20 in our Element, usually  lasts about 2 weeks, but then I really do not go anywhere, we also live in a rural area, but 'supa' walmart is across the hi-way, so I am now forced to do more shopping there, and thank God for Dollar Tree.  I think it was $3.69 here today.
