Hey Ladies, Just wondering what everyone ultimate Mother's Day gift would be? Mine would be a day alone all to myself to do whatever I wanted, and not have to worry about my son. I think I would chose to spend it at the day spa just relaxing and only thinking about me.......How wickedly selfish :-)
Since your post said "Mother's Day Dream" Mine would be a day at Disney World/Disneyland. Perhaps be treated like a Royal Family. What ever we wanted it would be granted by the top hedgehog of Disney. My kids and I would go to each ride and shows without waiting. We eat anything we want without paying. After a fun filled day, we would crash in Cinderella's castle and sleep. Now that would a great day.

I like to spend the day with our whole family. We usually have brunch with my family and then have dinner with my hubby's mom and grandma. I dont usually get breakfast in bed becuase I am an early riser and so is my daughter. My hubby can sleep till noon but im out of bed at 8 30 at the latest, most of the time its about 7ish. Once we have a house we can have everyone over so that we dont have to drive everywhere but for now it works, and I love it. I get special alone time other days, but mothers day to me means celebrating being a mom and our own mothers.
Wow melissa that is truly a Mother's Day Dream ... I would love to have that one too! =)
Mine would be a day at the beach with my family including my grandma, mom and sisters... to be pampered by my husband and my son giving me lots of hugs and kisses. I don't know if I would be happy celebrating mother's day without my son, my husband ... well, maybe someday, a trip to a spa alone on Mother's Day is a good idea I mean when my son grow older and when he has his own family I know for sure there will some mother's day that he won't be able to spend it with me (specially if he's family live somewhere/miles away from where I am residing) so yes I will consider that but since he was too small to go somewhere lol he'll be spending many mother's day with me in the next 10 or more years lol ... I could have "me" time on any day but Mother's day for me means spending it with important people in my life.
Mother's Day Dream....hmmmmm
To have all my bills paid and to live free of worry so I would spend more quality time with my children.

I think it is interesting that after expressing what would be a great Mother's Day for you - you added "how wickedly selfish".
I believe that as Mothers it is important for us to acknowledge ourselves as individuals separate from our families. I believe that as Mothers it is important for our children to learn how to say what they want. That is an important example for us to set. Especially for our female children it is important,.Now more than ever, our children must learn to be strong individuals in this world and understand that it is OK for them to say what they want.
So , Mom, let your family know - as I'm sure you do every day - that you love them, and then let them know that a wonderful treat for you would be to have a day alone with no responsibilities. Maybe you spend Mother's Day with them with the understanding that their gift to you is the arrangement to have another day just as you would like it.

Well, my thoughts are a little different. My kids are the reason I am able to celebrate Mother's Day! So, I want to send the day with them. They usually pamper me anyways. I get breakfast in bed, a tidy house, my daughter runs me a perfect bath and gives me a foot massage, hubby cooks for me, and I get lots of love!!! I try to spend time with my mom too, but my priority is with my kids! I have had my ups and downs with 5 children and I have come through it stronger and wiser.
Happy Holidays!
