CUPID OUTFIT
SUPPLIES
One white standand size pillowcase
Gold rope
Grapevine wreath
Baby's breath and mini red roses
Wings, bow and arrow from your local party store
This is a great little outfit to make for your Valentine's photos, it's so EASY and adorable, you will love it. Take your pillowcase and hem, hot glue (my preference) or cut to the length you would like your cupid outfit to be. Cut armholes on the sides and one for the head on top. Wrap your gold rope around the waist and YOUR DONE with the outfit part. Now for the "grapevine crown", get a small grapevine wreath from your local craft store and put some baby's breath and small roses through it, you can glue them on if you like but it is not necesary.
Have fun sharing these photos with everyone in your family, this is still my favorite photo of my "Little Cupid"
This year we decided to get down and dirty :' ) and boy did we have fun !!!!!!

I'll be doing an easy project with my duaghter's 2nd grade class. Each child will trace their open hand onto a piece of construction paper. They will fold and glue odnw 2 fingers to make the sign language symbol for I LOVE YOU. The hand then will be glued to a red heart about 8 x 8 in diameter. These can be purchased at teacher supply stores or you can cut them yourself from red paper. One small foam heart will be placed in the palm of the hand and one btwn. the thumb and pointer. They can write a message on hearts if they wish. Easy and cute!

A Valentine Project to make with your Child to use at home and to send to loved ones
These Valentine Placemats are super easy to make and inexpensive too. We make them in January to use all February. We also send each Grandparent a set and some to Aunties and Uncles too.
For this project you will need:
1 Sheet of White paper
2 Sheets of 81/2 x 11 colored craft paper (contrasting colors work best)
1 Sheet of colored paper (scrapbooking paper/wrapping paper)
1 silk/fabric flower with layers of petals
Printed pictures of your child – I printed mine from my computer on regular paper
Inkpad
Markers
Directions:
1. Dip your child’s index finger in the ink and print a finger print on the white paper two times to form a heart shape. Do this several times, as you will need a few to form the petals of the flowers.
2. Trace around the fingerprints to define a heart shape, shade in with markers and cut out.
3. Slightly trim a colored piece of paper and mat it onto a contrasting page and adhere to the largest paper. Trim to a size of a placemat forming a rectangle if desired.
4. Print pictures of your child and cut into circles to form center of flowers
5. Take apart flower and adhere to paper (glue dots work great and are available at craft stores). Adhere printed picture
6. Arrange and adhere cut fingerprint hearts onto silk flowers to form petals around picture
7. Make as many copies of your project as desired at a local copy center. Laminate each copy at a copy center.
Yay – your placemat sets are done. My 31/2 year old wrote her name and I added the occasion and date as a memento. We use our placemats the whole of February and they are super easy to keep clean – just wipe with a damp cloth.
Thanks for the note about the pictures...I had a hard time attaching mine (due to the size), so it is in an e-mail that follows my entry for the Love Bugs in a Jar!
Love seeing all of the ideas!
Mom of 3 LOVE BUGS :)
Personal Valentine Bags for the entire family. Give each member a white lunch bag sized bag. Each member picks another member of the family and decorates a Valentine Bag for them. Use magazines, newspapers, photos, drawings, stickers, fabric, ribbon, or beads to describe or brag about the person the bag is for. Describe that person, their talent, through words, poetry, or photos to create a memory and a useful bag to collect those special Valentine cards this year.
Simple, cheap, non-toxic dough hearts- You heat up water and then add to 2/3 corn starch to a 1/3 baking soda in a bowl not on the stove top. Remove from heat let cool. add a few drops of red food (or break up dough to make many colors) Help kids form them into heart shapes. bake 5-10minutes at 250degrees and decorate hearts with markers or crayons. If it starts to dry out just add aa few drops of water to the dough. I also used this to make great ornamint gifts for Christmas with my step-son. And I made little inscent holders to go with them out of the same dough.
I don't have a way to upload pictures right now.
