Hi there, my name is Christine Porretta, and I'm the new health editor at Kaboose.com. I'm excited about this shape-up challenge. It's just the kind of kick in the butt I need to make good on all those unfulfilled promises I've made myself to start working more exercise into my schedule. That's right, other than walking to and from work, the only flexing I've been doing—I'm ashamed to say—has been to flex my fingers across the keys on the remote control. But starting on Jan. 1, no excuses—no matter how busy I am—will set me back. Together we can help encourage one another to meet our fitness goals. I'm ready to get  movin'. Are you?

Yep! I got a good start to my fitness regimen yesterday - I spent an hour climbing the walls (literally, we have our own climbing gym in our "home gym"). Today, I rowed for half an hour on the rowing machine. Tomorrow is climbing/core day again. OUCH.

Count me in!  I've been active at our local gym for the past few weeks and I'm on a roll.  I had a slight hiccup in my routine this week with my kids' illnesses and the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday.  I got back on track tonight with my Incred-a-Ball class, which literally kicked my behind.  I will pick it back up again in the  morning with pilates and cardio.  I have been going faithfully 4-5 times a week and I'm excited about it!

I started back into my exercise regimen today when we headed to the gym.  Next week will be another abbreviated schedule but after school has begun and the holidays are behind us I'm ready to kick some butt.  Since September I've gotten back into an exercise regimen after a several year hiatus but haven't lost any weight, hoping 2008 is my year!

I went out and bought ugly sneakers that I can wear outside and not get upset about and I have already walked 2 times! I am in.  I am 7 months pregnant and SO do not want to be completely out of shape and unhappy when I give birth.

I am ready, I did start back up yesterday as well. I feel great already.

Did alittle step aerobics and some core work. Will do a circuit work out today.......................I'm going!

So -- we can be lazy 'til the first...right? OK, OK -- I'll get off my fanny before then -- I started off so well thru August then downhill from there.  It's amazing how certain events trump personal health!

I'm in ... but I won't be able to fit the gym back into the schedule until after the New Year.  After that, tho ... here I come!  :)  I have already figured out the food calendar for the month of January and my schedule of classes at the Y are listed in my scheduler.  Now ... just to get through this last crazy week!
