So I just went in for my annual and my doctor said that I have a clogged milk duct. OK I thought but I haven't nursed for a almost 2 years. How can this be? I did have mastitis 9 times with my last child but it has been a long time since she has nursed and I haven't had any problems. So I am going in for a mammogram on Monday but wondering if anyone else has had this happen? Do you think that this could do with my "Moon cycle"?
I actually had a clogged milk duct in my early 20's- way before I had children. They say it is really common and I have heard of several women that have had it since. It really hurts though doesn't it? I remember feeling like their was a pin going into my chest cavity everytime I went out in the cold! I am sorry that you are going through this. Did they put you on anything? I remember I was told not to work for a couple of days and to relax and I was on some type of medicine (what I can't remember). I do remember that it took a couple of weeks for it to go away.
Good luck!
ouch! I have never had a blocked duct, mastitis 9 times does not sound like a picnic! Good luck with your momogram, hopefully they will be able to give you some answers
Sarah
I have never heard of this before! You'll have to keep us updated.
I hope it breaks up soon.
Wow...this is very intresting...even though I know for you it must be painful. Sorry..I never herd of that I'm still nursing my first one though. I tried looking up info I can only find info for mastitis...SORRY
Thanks girls for all your concerns. I went and had my first mammogram today now that was fun haha. And everything was thing was fine so the Doc says. Nothing even should up on the ultrasound or mammogram. So now I am just waiting to talk with my Doc. this week. I just hate the answer " well... we are not really sure what it is" But I am not in pain or anything . It is nothing like having mastitis thank god!! So thanks again everyone
Glad to hear you are fine. I had my first mammogram too and it wasn't that bad. I never heard of a clogged milk duct but I had mastitis once, I'd rather have the mammogram.
Oh my... have not heard of this! Amazing.
