Hi ladies.  My tummy is so full from totally gorging myself the past two days.  I hosted Thanksgiving and I even ate more leading up to yesterday, due to the stress of planning and getting ready for the holiday.  I feel so icky.  Any tips on getting back on track?  I'm making such good progress towards my health and fitness goals, I hate feeling like a stuck pig!!!!!  You should have seen me in the kitchen tonight stuffing myself on the leftover apple pie when noone was looking.  Ick.  I'm going to try to get back on the horse tomorrow.  Any words of encouragement or commiseration would be appreciated:)

I am in the same boat! Last night I went into the kitchen and heated up the bowl (yes bowl- not a serving) of stuffing.  It was so very good.  I felt so sick when I woke up.  My advise is to start moving after eating- just take a walk.  It totally helped me to go to the park today with my son.  We ran and ran and ran.  Now I don't want to eat as much because I feel on top of things!!!

Good advice, ladies.  I am going to get back to my routine...tomorrow.  Today I went to the movies and ate chocolate at the mall, oh well.  I plan to get back on track and I plan to lose at least 2 more pounds before Christmas.  And I will do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's so difficult not to overeat during the holidays.  The first thing I do to get back on track is to smile about all the yummy food I ate, try hard not to feel negative about it, and get rid of anything that is tempting me.  If I don't need it, my family probably doesn't either.  As soon as possible, I go back to eating more healthfully and sparsely.

Another jumpstarter is to increase your level of exercise for a week or so, and/or to try a new activity that you enjoy that is vigorous in nature or just an add-on to your normal routine.

A long walk in a beautiful place is another tactic I use when I'm in a negative place...

I thought I was doing ok, then got ambushed today! I ate a medium sized brunch, then we wer off to an afternoon party for a 6 year old's birthday. The party was scheduled for 2, so silly me, I assumed it would be party fare, not mealtime, but there was a massive spread of great food. So I ate. Then they packed up a bunch of the food for us and it smelled so good in the car that I came home and had another plate. Then I still wanted the turkey potpie i had made with the leftovers. So I ate some. And I ate some more while I heated up some other food for the kids. I am not a big carb eater, but that's how today went -- I can't help but think it's partly because it got so cold here suddenly.
