TiffaniDenver I am a mother of two wonderful boys, ages 4 and 1. We were expecting our third child in September 2008, but God had other plans and we miscarried. My husband and I have been happily married for 6 years. I work part time from home as a writer. I grew up in Nebraska (GO BIG RED!) and graduated from the University of Denver with a BA in Journalism in 1999. I am a wellness enthusiast, and enjoy cooking, wine, pilates, and hiking. |

I think I've been overly confident about my lack of nausea or food aversions through this pregnancy. Both hit me like a ton of bricks on Friday. Anyone who knows me, knows that I eat chicken 4 or 5 nights a week for dinner. In fact, I just stockpiled a few large bags in my freezer last weekend. I had homemade chicken pot pie on the menu for Friday, and realized just before I was about to cut raw chicken that it sounded completely repulsive to me. So, I altered the menu and decided that baked ziti sounded better. I figured I'd give it another whirl on Saturday night. No go. Not only does anything with chicken sound disgusting, but anything edible makes me feel incredibly nauseated. The only thing that has sounded good all day was the donut that I was craving this morning. The nearest grocery store is 5-10 minutes away so I decided it wasn't worth the drive, and the craving subsided. All this just in time for my hubby to leave for a 5-day business trip. At least I won't feel jealous about all the great restaurants he'll get to enjoy this week.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed this passes before the big Vegas trip I leave for in 10 days! If I can't drink margaritas by the yard, I want to be able to enjoy the wonderful food!
On a more exciting note, my first prenatal appointment is this Wednesday. I can't wait! Oh, and my jeans that were hanging off me a month ago are now terribly tight on me. I have to wear them unbuttoned, and I'm considering a Bella Band purchase to get a few more weeks out of my pre-preggo jeans. Why is it that I wore a size 6/7 until I was almost 20 weeks pregnant with my first, didn't break out the maternity pants until I was 14 weeks with my second, and now a size 10 is too small at just EIGHT weeks? I guess our bellies just pop out sooner with each baby! I've only gained a pound, but I feel like I've gained 15. I'm enjoying the belly, though!
Aside from the pregnancy excitement, I have noticed some huge improvements this week with my son's behavior. I wrote last week that my 4-year-old, Dawson, was showing some signs of ADHD. I started him on a regimen of Herbalife products on Sunday and I've noticed a great improvement in his behavior. He earned 4 stickers this week, where he usually earned 1 or 2 a week before. He was nice to his friends at the gym, and only had one time out all week. His gym teacher also noted that he was actually sitting down FOCUSING on their little preschool lesson on Thursday. What a huge improvement in a short time, and quite a relief that he's doing better. We've definitely still had some rough moments this week, but overall it's been a great improvement.
