NebraskaBZTiffani I am a mother of two wonderful boys, ages 4 and 1. We're expecting our 3rd child in September 2008. My husband and I have been happily married for 6 years. I work part time as a writer. I grew up in Nebraska (GO BIG RED!) and graduated from the University of Denver with a BA in Journalism in 1999. I am a wellness enthusiast, and enjoy cooking, wine, pilates, and hiking. |

Growing up in Fremont, NE, our family fun during the holidays consisted of night time drives to look at Christmas lights. Not that I didn't enjoy that, but there are so many great opportunities for families to get out and explore other holiday festivities. We just moved back here 4 months ago, so I'm still getting acclimated to Nebraska through the eyes of a parent rather than a child.
The one thing my husband and I promised ourselves this year is to experience the WildLights at the Omaha Zoo. This is our family's favorite attraction and seeing it in lights is on our agenda. There's also the spectacular light display at the Gene Leahy Mall and Heartland of America Park, which will be the host of an incredible New Year's Eve fireworks display.
If you're interested in Celebrating New Year's Eve with your little ones in tow, the fireworks display is at 7 p.m., so it will be just before bedtime. Or, get a well-trusted sitter to watch your munchkins and enjoy the night out with your sweetie. The Children's Museum also has a great celebration early in the afternoon.
Whatever you decide to do, keep it safe!
