As we walked up to the marquee at Madison Square Garden the giant video featuring Pinkie Pie was flashing and I thought my three year old daughter was going to have a stroke. My Little Ponies Live, was playing and will be there for a few more days.
Remember My Little Ponies? They turned 25 years old this year. Yes, I feel old too. But they’ve been revamped and are back in full force. They are sweet, pink and “oh so girly.” But most importantly, they have a healthy, simple message for kids about sharing and helping out your friends.
The show is a colorful, dynamic display with an impressive array of costumed ponies dancing around on stage. After your initial admiration for the anonymous actors inside, you start to believe the characters really are alive and prancing around planning the world’s biggest tea party. The songs are bouncy and bright, and get kids up and out of their seats. Mine was wide-eyed the first half and dancing in the aisles the second.
If you can head on over, I highly recommend it for young children. You will be a complete and utter hero. Buy them one of those flashlight star sticks and you will be unstoppable.
But seriously, this was a well designed, quality show that brought back memories for me. I remember My Little Ponies back when I was a kid. And now, I get to share it with my daughter.
Below are some pics from the show. I couldn't help adding in the picture of my daughter Morgan, walking the "pink carpet" at the press party before the show.

Looks like a lot of fun!
