2008 CHA Show Part 10: Kookle Nesting and Elephants on the Wall

9:52am, Feb 26, 2008

Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay in my continuing CHA coverage, but I caught a nasty flu-like virus which took me most of last week to recover from, but now I'm back to health and ready to blog!

At the CHA Show they have a "new exhibitors" hall where you can find the products of up-and-coming young businesses. Here are two of the companies I saw:

Kookle Nesting Dolls

As soon as I saw these adorable wooden nesting dolls I immediately thought "great rainy-day activity"! The kits come with 5 blank nesting dolls that kids can paint with the included acrylic paints. Little ones can be imaginative, painting their favorite cartoon characters, animals, or family members--since the dolls do not include a predetermined design, the possibilities are endless.

The next craft idea works best with older kids due to the level of skill necessary. Elephants on the Wall produces large-scale wall mural designs for families who want to add a little kick to their child's wall decoration with their "Paint-by-Number" wall murals.

All you have to do is tape the pattern transfer onto your wall, then trace the design--then you are ready to start painting according to the color/number system included in the kit.

They have tons of cute themes like "Woodland Creatures" and "Cowboys" to choose from, so there is plenty to choose from to meet the likes of your kid.

Oh my goodness; what great stuff. So inspiring and creative. All your pix make me want to pick up my old scrapbooks and start again: I've only done three pages of my wedding scrapbook and one or two pages of my oldest child's scrapbook. Yipes!
