Method Cleaning, which can be found at Target stores across the country, is coming to NYC to transform the way we clean and to “rid homes of dirt, harsh chemicals, and nasty toxins."
From May 13 – June 7, they will have a pop-up shop located in SoHo, at 550 Broadway between Prince and Spring, where they will have Method Cleaning Products for sale. Additionally, they will have aroma stations and mix and match kits. If you get tired from perusing the merchandise, you should pop a squat in their “Dirty Little Secret” cleaning confessional booth. There you can purge all those pent up feelings, musings, and even gossip, which will leave you feeling cleansed. When you stop by, don’t forget to bring one of your everyday (read: toxic) cleaning products with you, so that you can do an even swap, at no charge, for a Method product. The store will be open every day from 10am to 7pm, so don’t miss this opportunity.3:36pm, May 9, 2008

I had the opportunity to recently get both some celebrity gossip and an all-star manicure from celebrity manicurist Elle. She designed the color palette for Barielle, a nail care and nail color company, but also paints the fingers of many female stars, including singers, dancers, and actresses.
As I sat and received a meticulous nail shaping, Elle answered some of my celebrity questions – yes, I am nosey.
Who are some of the celebs that you have worked with?
“Jennifer Lopez, Gwenyth Paltrow, and Renee Zellweger.”
Have you seen Jennifer’s twins?
“Yes, I was just over there the other day – they are so cute. She had one of them in her hand while I was painting her other hand – she is superwoman. I mean she was asked if she wanted the baby to be held while she was getting her nails done, and she said, ‘No, I got it.’”
I loved being able to sit and chat with Elle, just as I imagined her celebrity clients do. She was warm and open, and gave me the best manicure my hands have ever seen. Too bad I can’t afford to have her stop by my house when I break a nail!
Check out our favorite celebrity fragrances, including two of Jennifer Lopez's scents.

It’s time to shed your tired plastic bags for something a little greener. NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing and tourism organization, has partnered with Whole Foods Market to launch limited-edition, 100% organic cotton shopping bags. For each bag sold, Whole Foods Market will donate $1 to MillionTreesNYC. These environmentally friendly bags will be on sale at all 16 Whole Foods Market stores in northern New Jersey, New York and southern Connecticut. Bags will be sold throughout April for $11.99.

April also marks Whole Foods Market’s nationwide goal to eliminate plastic grocery bags at checkout by Earth Day – a key component of Mayor Bloomberg’s GreenNYC consumer education campaign to help New Yorkers live green. Whole Foods Market will no longer offer plastic bags in its stores beginning on Earth Day, April 22. Customers who do not have their own bags will be given recycled paper bags and encouraged to use their own disposable bags for future shopping.
MillionTreesNYC, a citywide collaboration between the Department of Parks & Recreation and the New York Restoration Project, is an initiative to plant and care for one million new trees across the five boroughs over the next decade.

OK, I think that I have a musical crush -- and it is on an American Idol! Every Tuesday I park my behind on the couch, usually with my laptop in my lap and work on the screen, to listen to the American Idol contestants. Truthfully there are only two or three that I actually enjoy listening to, and seeing what song they select. My favorite idol, by far, is David Cook. Each week I think that he just keeps getting better, and he truly does take risks, which is appreciated by the listeners, who are a bit tired of the literal translations that some of the idols give. I feel that he has a smooth tone to his voice, and his ability to hold notes just proves that he can indeed sing. Here was his performance last night that I loved:
Enjoy!
I totally agree! LOVE him! I think the best way to watch American Idol is to PVR (Tivo) it and start watching 1/2 way through...that way you can skip brutal performances, watch the critiques and good performances. My top 3 are: David Cook, Carly Smithson and Michael Johns (would love to see him do an INXS song...)
i like his new haircut. i missed Idol AGAIN this week (my gosh darn knitting class), but oh well.
I use woven bags to carry my groceries in. I know they're covered in plastic, but they're unbreakable! They also hold a lot more groceries than a plastic bag can so I use less bags! They're fantastic!!
